Read Ant's background

Great chefs are not born overnight. Ant trained for five years on the Specialised Chef's Course at the Michelin-starred Connaught Hotel in London, preparing dishes with the same meticulous care for every guest, including Queen Elizabeth II.

He then worked at Le Souffle, Nobu and Maison Novelli under Michelin-starred chefs. That experience led to opening restaurants in the UK, where his pan-Asian restaurant won Kent's Restaurant of the Year in 2004. After marrying Kiwi wife Tiff, Ant moved to New Zealand and became head chef at Wharekauhau Lodge in the Wairarapa.

Today Ant runs his own business, tailoring events from deluxe roaming canapes to ten-course degustations and everything between, including a limited number of weddings each year for clients who want to make the day truly special.

"Ant's knowledge of food, his cooking and his foraging is right up there with the standards set by top Michelin-starred restaurants. We are blessed to have his skills in the Wairarapa."
